School class from the pastThe Highland Folk Museum welcome visits from schools throughout our season, which runs from Easter to the end of October. Entry to the museum with schools is free. A free pre-visit planning visit is advised.

Primary
The museum is always a popular visit for Primary classes, offering lots to see and do throughout the whole day.A visit to the museum is an ideal way to support learning within the Curriculum for Excellence. Secondary Classes
The museum offers a range of opportunities for secondary classes, from opportunities to develop observational drawing skills to a setting for drama work, and from historical research to finding out about how we use the environment. A visit to the museum is an ideal way to support learning within the Curriculum for Excellence

If your pupils are studying Standard Grade Unit I - Scotland and Britain 1750 - 1850 or 1880s to Present Day, you will find materials to support a visit on the Themes and Resources page.
